Grant Cockburn has run Mallacoota Hireboats on Coulls Inlet since 2012. Power boats you can drive without a licence, a fast boat, the Inlet Barbie, kayaks, pedal boats and bikes, all from the jetty by the main wharf.

THE STORY
This one started the other way round. I went through their website, wrote up what wasn't working and made a mockup of a new homepage before anyone asked me to. Grant had a look, we had a chat, I gave him a price, and we got to work.
Now someone on a phone gets what they came for straight away: the whole fleet, what each boat costs, things to do on the water, and an enquiry form with a date picker. Every enquiry lands in Grant's inbox, and the customer gets a reply straight away saying he'll be in touch within 24 hours.
WHAT I DID
I designed and built a single-page, mobile-first site around three things: the fleet, the rates and the enquiry form, with a looping drone shot of the inlet in the hero. I wrote the copy, set up the enquiry emails, and added a fishing page with a fish ruler and the Victorian size and bag limits for local species, checked against the Victorian Fisheries Authority, so anglers have a reason to keep the site open on the water.
