Websites for salons and beauty businesses

Online booking, your prices and your hours, easy to find on a phone, so clients book themselves in instead of texting you.

Most people pick a hairdresser or a beauty therapist on their phone. They want to see your work, what you charge, when you’ve got a spot and how to grab it. If the only way to book is to ring or send a message, you end up answering the phone with a client in the chair, or replying to texts at nine at night.

I build sites that let clients book themselves in. I’m Matt, I run Your Mate Agency out of Mallacoota, and I built the site for Studio at 65, a hair salon that had 1,378 clicks from Google search in the 12 months to 24 September 2026.

Where a salon site loses bookings

Booking still happens by phone, text or Facebook message, so every appointment costs you a conversation, and the ones that come in after hours wait until morning. Or there is an online booking link, but it’s three taps deep and half your clients don’t know it exists. The price list is a photo of the sign at the front desk, or it isn’t there at all, so people message to ask.

The other half is being found. When someone new to town searches for a hairdresser or a beauty salon, Google has to know what you do, where you are and when you’re open. A properly built site that matches your Google Business Profile is how you show up in that list, and a clear page is what gets people to click on you once you’re there.

Studio at 65

Studio at 65 is a hair salon in Mallacoota, and I built its website. Clients book through Square straight from the site, instead of ringing or texting to get an appointment.

  • 1,378clicks from Google search in the 12 months to 24 September 2026
  • 34%click-through rate: about one in three times it showed up in a search, someone clicked

Both numbers are from Google Search Console, searches in Australia. The build is written up in the Studio at 65 case study.

Massage by Jodie

The same kind of site works outside hair. Massage by Jodie is a remedial massage business in Mallacoota, and I built its website and online booking. Jodie’s biggest worry was whether her older clients would cope with booking online. In her review she says even her senior clients find the website and the booking easy to use. The build is in the Massage by Jodie case study.

Honestly, Matt's a gem. New Website with online bookings so I can throw away my old paper and pen setup. No more phone calls after business hours and text message back and forth to book clients in. 5 stars from me. Oh and he answers his phone, not someone else who I have to explain things to repeatedly.

What goes on a salon site

A hair salon, a nail bar and a beauty therapist each need slightly different things, but most of the work is done by the same short list.

  • Online booking one tap away on every page, using the system you already have or one that suits how you work. Studio at 65 takes its bookings through Square.
  • Your services and prices as a proper list, even if they’re “from” prices, so people know roughly what a cut, a colour or a treatment costs before they book.
  • Opening hours, the address and a map, matching your Google Business Profile, so nobody turns up while you’re closed.
  • Photos of your actual work and your actual salon, not stock shots of someone else’s balayage.
  • A clear section for each of the main things you do, so Google can match you to searches for them in your town.
  • If you sell gift vouchers or products, a way to buy them online with a card.

All of it built for a phone first, because that’s what your clients are holding when they decide to book.

How the build runs

It fits around your appointment book. You don’t need to close for a day to get a new site.

  1. We have a chat about the business: what you do, how people book now, what you charge and what clients keep messaging to ask. Thirty minutes, no jargon.
  2. I build the site around the booking, with your services, prices and photos done first, and send you a link to go through on your phone.
  3. You tell me what’s wrong, I fix it, and it goes live. I also check your Google Business Profile says the same thing as the site.
  4. I walk you through the booking side until you’re comfortable with it. When something needs changing later, you ring me, not a call centre.

What it costs

A fixed price, agreed before I start, and that’s what you pay. Rebuilding a site that’s structurally fine starts at $3,000, a redesign runs $3,500 to $10,000, and a fresh build from nothing is $4,000 to $15,000, all plus GST. What moves it is mostly page count and add-ons like online booking or selling products. The full breakdown is on the pricing page, with no lock-in contracts.

Questions I get asked

Can clients book online through the site?

Yes, and for a salon that’s the main job of the site. Studio at 65 takes bookings through Square, straight from its website. If you already use a booking system, I put it where clients expect to find it. If you don’t, I’ll help you pick one that suits how you work.

I already use a booking app. Do I have to change?

Usually not. If your clients already book through it and it works for you, I build the site around it. If it’s causing you grief we can talk about swapping, but I won’t push you off something that works.

Do I pay for the booking system as well?

The booking system has its own pricing, separate from mine, and it’s set by whoever runs it. Before you sign up to anything, I’ll go through what the one you’re looking at costs, so there are no surprises.

Will my older clients cope with booking online?

That was Jodie’s biggest worry at Massage by Jodie, and in her review she says even her senior clients find the website and the booking easy to use. I keep booking to as few steps as it can be, with big buttons and plain words, and anyone who would still rather ring can find your number easily.

Will a new site bring in new clients from Google?

It helps, but it isn’t magic. Google needs to know what you do, where you are and when you’re open, and a well-built site that matches your Google Business Profile gives it that. Studio at 65 had 1,378 clicks from Google search in the 12 months to 24 September 2026, with a 34% click-through rate. What’s realistic for you depends on your town and who you’re up against, and I’ll tell you that straight.

Do you only work with salons in Mallacoota?

No. I’m based in Mallacoota and both of these are local jobs, but I build for hair salons, beauty therapists and massage businesses across Gippsland and regional Victoria. Most of the work runs over the phone and email.

See your new homepage before you pay a cent

Send me your business name, what you do and your town. Within 48 hours you get a mockup of your new homepage and a fixed price, on a private link.

It uses your real photos, phone number and colours, carries a “concept by Your Mate Agency” banner, and nothing on it is made up. No obligation. I take the first 10 businesses a month.

Or just have a chat

Thirty minutes on the phone and I’ll tell you straight what your site needs and roughly what it’d cost. If your booking app and your Google listing are already doing the job and a new site wouldn’t change much, you’ll hear that too. You talk to me, not a call centre.
