WHAT TO DO
Get Out on the Water
The inlet is what makes Mallacoota special. Grab a boat and explore at your own pace — fish, swim, find a quiet beach, or just drift around with a coldie. No licence needed for either option.
Mallacoota Barbie Boats — electric barbecue boats that fit the whole family. Float around the inlet, cook lunch on board, and find your own little beach to pull up on.
Bucklands Jetty Boat Hire — half cabin boats, Polycraft, BBQ boat, and kayaks — right off the jetty. Great option if you want to explore the waterways at your own pace.
Mallacoota Hire Boats — boats, canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. Great range of options to get out on the inlet however you want.
Walk the Tracks
Some of the best coastal walks in Victoria are right here:
- Captain Stevenson's Point — easy loop with massive views over the inlet and ocean
- Betka Beach — a short drive from town, great surf beach and rock pools for the kids
- Gabo Island — if you're up for an adventure, there are boat trips out to the lighthouse. Penguins, seals, and one of the most remote lighthouses in Australia
Something Different
Mallacoota Gun Club — Come & Try Clay Target Shooting
$100 for 25 shots — includes clay targets, supervision, and use of a gun. The 25 shots can be shared amongst your group, and you can grab more ammo if you're having fun. Sessions run about 2 hours depending on group size. Participants need to be over 12 years of age. Available over the Easter holidays — organised on request, no minimum numbers.
